New Latin Restaurant Coming to Little Rock

Looks like the restaurant scene in Little Rock is about to get a burst of flavor. Lulu’s Latin Rotisserie and Grill is set to open later this month on Bowman Curve in West Little Rock, in the space previously occupied by Bill’s Country Kitchen at 315 N. Bowman Rd.
Owner Heinz Kurt, who for the past seven years has been a manager at ZaZa’s, says the new restaurant will feature Peruvian style rotisserie chicken and Argentinian steaks along with soups and salads.
“We roast the chickens for three hours over an open flame with hickory,” Kurt tells us. “It makes for a very tender and juicy chicken. You will even be able to pick up a family pack of the chicken.”
Kurt may be new to restaurant ownership in Little Rock, but this is not his first time as an owner.
Kurt is originally from Bolivia where he owned and operated a restaurant featuring some of the same foods he plans to offer here. He moved to Little Rock seven years ago with his wife who is originally from the area. Kurt says he and his wife will manage Lulu’s together.
“After a long time dreaming about starting my own restaurant here in Little Rock, it is finally becoming a reality,” Kurt says. “I want to also thank a lot of you for your support during this time and throughout my time in Arkansas so far. I especially want to thank Scott McGehee and John Beachboard for having me come on board with them at ZaZa back at the beginning and for giving me an opportunity to work there for these past seven years.”
Lulu’s is expected to open on September 17th. Once open they will run 7 days a week from 10 am – 9 pm. In addition to the food offerings they plan to have beer and wine at launch, with a cocktail menu to follow sometime in the near future.
