Atlas Bar Officially Closes

Atlas Bar today made their temporary closure, which started in March, permanent. The South Main bar and restaurant enjoyed a year run and had hoped to reopen this summer after the shutdown.
Talking with owner Tony Poe, the decision did not come lightly and he struggled for weeks with the inevitable decision.
“Atlas was a big dream of mine and it is hard letting it go,” Poe says. “I want to thank the amazing staff we had here along with friends, family, neighbors, and supporters that made this dream possible. Atlas will always have a special place in my heart. We love the South Main neighborhood and want to encourage everyone to visit the restaurants and shops that supported us unconditionally over this past year.”
Atlas opened in Spring 2019 and was immediately a great addition to the South Main area. As a resident of the area, it became a go-to spot to get a great cocktail for those of us who live nearby. The spot was noticeably cocktail forward and the cocktails were some of the best in town.
The food was no slouch though. The menu was a combination of favorites from around the world. The Bahn Mi was our favorite in the city and the labneh may have been one of the most underrated appetizers anywhere.
Atlas was also lucky to have several fantastic staff members, especially in the bar area. Several have moved on to other positions in the city.
Atlas will certainly be missed by all of us here at Rock City.
