Cuban Pull Imperiale Friday, Lost Forty Trash Pandamonium

Just go ahead and take the day off of work Friday, because that’s when Moody Brews excellent Cuban Pull Imperiale goes on tap at Vino’s. If you missed our Growlers feature last week, we covered the details of the beer there, so go back and check it out. Cuban Pull Imperiale will be on tap when the doors open at 11 a.m. Vino’s will be serving 12-ounce pours with a limit of two per person. Moody brewed a three-barrel batch of Cuban Pull Imperiale, so it won’t sell out in minutes. Still, you won’t want to wait too long to get there.
Lost Forty Brewing today kicks off a series of Freshcut Monday releases that IPA fans are really going to enjoy. Trash Pandamonium starts today at 4 p.m. with the first of three variations on the brewery’s popular Trash Panda IPA series. Each release will feature a unique hop recipe that will result in a different flavor of IPA. Today’s release is brewed with Summit and Denali hops; Summit hops for a spicy, herbal flavor and Denali for a strong profile of citrus and pineapple. This is a pretty big IPA at 7.2% ABV. It’s available on draft and in four-packs today at the taproom and will soon be released statewide. If you can’t make it today, there will be a new Trash Pandamonium release each of the next two Freshcut Mondays.
For those who are looking for something less hoppy, there are two options coming out this week. The first one is at Rebel Kettle’s 4:30 Thursday event, where the taproom is unveiling its new Gold Reserve Strong American Lager. This lager is a traditional American recipe that pours clean and clear with a smooth finish. While this won’t be a hoppy pour, the 6.7% ABV is certainly higher than you might expect from the style. You can check it out for yourself at 4:30 this Thursday at Rebel Kettle.
Your second choice for an easy drinking pour this week comes the very next day at Stone’s Throw Brewing. For its #NewBrewFriday release, Stone’s Throw is bringing back Orion Nebula Belgian Blonde ale. You’ll remember, this is the homebrew recipe that was named the “Official Beer of Kickball” back in February. Orion Nebula is a 6% ABV blonde with a subtly complex profile from the Belgian yeast that still goes down easily and tastes great. It goes on tap at 4 p.m. Friday at the MacPark location. By the way, #NewBrewFriday releases always start at MacPark and typically come to the Stifft Station location a few weeks later.
Finally, I got a chance to stop in this week at Arkansas’ newest brewery. Eureka Springs Brewery opened just nine weeks ago in Carroll County. The new brewery is owned and operated by Jeff Joseph, who used to work in engineering before starting the business. Eureka Springs Brewery has eight taps, with seven of those dedicated to its own beer and one with a rotating cider from Black Apple Cidery. The beer was solid; you can tell that Joseph knows what he’s doing. I expect the quality to keep going up as he gets more practice in. Stop by if you’re up in Eureka Springs. It’s nice to finally have regular craft beer in that part of the state.
