Do Father's Day Right with Beer and Brunch

Until recently Father’s Day never got a whole lot of love in the local dining scene. Where restaurants would go out of their way for Mother’s Day brunch specials, the men were usually stuck grilling their own steaks in the backyard.
It seems like restaurants are finding out that dads want some brunch love too, and we want some good beer to go with it. So skip the tie and the #1 Dad mugs and take him out for some good eats and beer. If you really feel the need to get him a mug, just grab a growler of his favorite to go on your way out.
Lost Forty Father’s Day Brunch – For the second year in a row the L40 team will serve up some special dad-approved brunch items along with beer-mosas along with their normal great selection of beer that your dad probably drinks already. 10:30 – 3, no reservations required.
Raduno Father’s Day Brunch – Raduno is bringing in some special products like brats from Hillcrest Artisan Meats that your dad is sure to love. They are pairing it all with a huge selection of local and regional craft beers on tap. 11-3, no reservations required.
The Fold’s Father’s Day Brunch – If the dad in your life does not love you after you feed him tacos, maybe he does not love you at all. The Fold is putting together a special Father’s day brunch just for dad and they have a decent selection of beer and a good cocktail lineup. Runs 11-3, no reservations required.
Flying Saucer Father’s Day Brunch – Not normally a brunch space, the Saucer will break that just for dad. They will serve up biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon and ham, along with some taters and toast. They will also have a few special father’s day glasses if you get in quick. Runs from 11-2.
Kent Walker Artisan Cheese Crawfish Boil – Ok, it isn’t for brunch, but unless your dad has a shellfish allergy, chances are he loves some crawfish. The folks over at Kent Walker have put together what may be the best way to celebrate dad. Party starts at 1 p.m. and includes cheese and beer, tickets are $35, grab them here.
If that is not enough, there are a ton of great places where you can grab some lunch, brunch, and brews around town that are not father’s day specific. Here are some good ones to check out.
Rebel Kettle Brewing – Rebel Kettle is our newest brewery, but has a very unique beer selection. Their food menu includes burgers, sandwiches, and wings that are always a safe bet even for a picky dad.
Flyway Brewing – Flyway recently stepped up their food offering game. Their mixture of high end sliders and nachos pair perfectly with their already fantastic beer lineup.
Stone’s Throw Brewing – While Stone’s Throw does not cook in house, they do bring in a food truck to match with their beer. On Sunday they will have our good friends at Fork in the Road setup for brunch and dinner.
Loca Luna – The team at Loca Luna knows brunch, and this is always a crowd favorite. They have a solid lineup of local craft beers to compliment their great brunch options.
South on Main – South on Main is always a brunch mainstay around the city. Their high-southern food is going to please most dads. They have a limited, but carefully selected brew line up along with the best cocktails in town.
