First Look: Desserts at 109 & Co.

When 109 & Co. made the transition from cigar bar (Maduro) to a cocktail bar late last year, it filled a void in the vision to make Main Street a night time destination for locals. Now people could grab great food from new places like Three Fold, Natchez, Bruno’s Little Italy, and The Southern Gourmasian, then slip in to 109 for some hand-crafted cocktails.
The other void was a spot to grab some good after dinner desserts, especially given that several of these places are lacking in good desserts. Thankfully, 109 & Co. has filled that as well by working with Natchez pastry chef Zara Wilkerson to craft a selection of desserts that make 109 both a dessert and cocktail destination.
This type of partnership is just the latest in a line of partnerships owner Michael Peace is working on. “The ‘and company’ in our name really is meant to reflect a collaboration of people who work together to make 109 & Co. happen,” Peace says. “We have food from Butcher & Public, special bar tending nights from top bartenders in town, and now desserts from Zara.”
This latest collaboration might be the best so far. Wilkerson has put together four desserts available nightly with hand selected cocktail pairings by Peace. All desserts are available nightly.
