First Look: Three Fold Noodle and Dumpling Co.

I got a chance to take a sneak peek inside the brand new Three Fold Noodle and Dumpling Co. in downtown Little Rock, and from what I saw … and tasted … there’s plenty of reason for optimism.
The décor and atmosphere are quite inviting, highlighted by white walls, exposed brick and big windows looking out towards Center Street. What the ownership has done, quite simply, is create a fast casual restaurant setting with modern touches and a classic feel. “In line with our mission to bring out the best of both Western and Eastern traditions, we’ve created a classic cafe atmosphere as a representation of the western cuisine. Our mosaic tile floors and bentwood cafe chairs reflect the historical interiors of the building that we’re currently housed in– the Pyramid Building was deemed the state’s first skyscraper built in 1907,” says Rebecca Yan, director of business development.

It all works … and so does the food, at least some of the dishes we were fortunate enough to sample.

“We draw our vibrant flavors from the various regions of China; our menu remains true to each region’s diverse spices and cooking methods – whether it’s robust Sichuan noodles or delicate handmade dumplings and wontons, each dish pays tribute to traditional Chinese culinary arts,” says Yan.

The turkey dumplings were divine and left me excited about trying out the chicken and pork varieties when they hit the menu for next week’s soft opening on December 18th.
Little Rock … that’s less than a week away.

“In short, Three Fold will offer a clean, classic cafe atmosphere with the service style, speed, and convenience of a fast casual eatery. Unlike most fast casual restaurants, almost everything served at Three Fold is made in-house, from scratch including grounding the meat for our dumpling fillings and slicing our chips from whole, unpeeled taros,” says Yan.

This lover of dumplings is ready.
