Greek Food Festival Moves to October

We saw a long list of spring events scheduled for March and April reschedule or cancel their events when COVID struck in mid-March. Now one of the biggest events of late spring is on the move as well.
The 36th annual International Greek Food Festival will be moved to October 23-25th from the original date of May 15th. The Greek Food Festival was the winner of this year’s Food Hall of Fame food event category, as is easily the biggest food-specific event in Little Rock every year.
Greek Food Fest joins a crowded fall event schedule. In October alone, B Street Rib off and Diamond chef have both rescheduled for that month. Also October is traditionally the busiest month of the fall with No Kid Hungry, Blue Plate Special, and many others occupying dates.
“We believe this decision is best for the health of our community. However, we look forward to celebrating the festival with you in October and cannot wait to gather with our friends over Greek food and fun,” Greek Food Festival representatives said in a statement posted on their social media channels.
The Greek Food Festival had already begun producing some of their desserts for the spring festival early this year before COVID-19 forced spring festivals to re-evaluate their dates. Current projections show the virus spread peaking in early May, meaning it would likely be early-mid summer before any large events could consider opening up to crowds.
