Growlers: Cloudsplitter returns to Flyway, Lost Forty Releases Blue Sail Mocha Stout, Stone’s Throw Hosts Girl Scout Cookie Pairing

Welcome to Growlers: your weekly roundup of news, events and specials from Little Rock’s breweries and taprooms. Little Rock’s beer scene is growing and improving at a rapid pace, and we’re dedicated to keeping you up to speed on all of it. Here’s what’s happening this week:

Make plans to head to Lost Forty Brewing for today’s Fresh Cut collab – the Blue Sail Mocha Stout. Think a rich, chocolatey, buzz-worthy, coffee-berry treat. Starting with the Forest Queen Milk Stout as a base, locally roasted Blue Sail Coffee was added in, and the resulting beer was dry hopped with earthy Azacca Hops. I can’t wait to get my hands on some. Don’t forget to mark your calendar for All-Day Easter Beer Brunch this coming weekend, as well. Get all of the details on menu specials and more, here.

If you like sweets, keep your eyes on Stone’s Throw Brewing this week. On Tuesday, April 11, catch the Pairing Is Caring event, and discover which brew goes best with a Samoa, Tagalong and more. Also, get into the Easter Spirit with baked goods and beer this coming Saturday at the Beery Baked Goods event.

Get into the Spring spirit by checking out Flyway Brewing’s Cloudsplitter Pilsner, which goes on today. German Pilsner malts and Saaz hops are used to create this traditional European Pilsner. At 5.5% ABV, the brew is a clean, easy-drinker with a crisp 35 IBU bite. Make Flyway your prime Arkansas Traveler’s pregame spot.

Finally, it’s finally here. Food and Foam Fest is going down this Friday, April 14, at Dickey-Stephen Park. This is the place to come to taste craft beer from all over Arkansas and the United States, as well as the only place you’ll find special homebrews from the Arkansas Brewers Guild. Also, don’t miss the new Cottontown Brews Festival coming up June 3 in Scranton, Arkansas. This is the only Arkansas beer festival I know of where you can rent a campsite and stay the night. Space is limited, so make sure to get your ticket and campsite reserved soon.
