Growlers: Rebel Kettle Dreamsicle, Flyway Low Flock, Rail Yard Festival, Stone's Throw Cover Crop

Rebel Kettle is rolling out their Orange Dreamsicle again this Thursday. The cream style wheat beer is beer has a strong orange and vanilla flavor and a nice semi-sweet finish that reminds you of everyone’s (or at least mine) favorite popsicle. Last year’s release was excellent, although it was very limited, so be sure to stop in.
Lost Forty is rolling out the first of their experimental IPA series, this one called the Summer Forcast. According to Lost Forty the experimental IPA series “will be an ongoing recipe experimentation series that our brewers will use to test out new hops, new recipes, new ingredients, and new ideas.” Summer Forcast drops today (Monday) in the tap room.
Just down the road from these two, the Railyard will be hosting their inaugural food truck festival. Even though it is truck geared, they will have plenty of craft beer with representation by Rebel Kettle, Flyway, Lost Forty, and Diamond Bear. Aside from the beer they will have 7 food trucks represented, vendors, and music from noon until 9. Admission is free and a portion of the alcohol sales go to support the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance.
Across the River, Flyway has two re-releases this week. Today they are rolling back out their Cafe con Miel. The beer is aged on Onyx Coffee espresso beans and blended with nutmeg and cinnamon and features Arkansas honey and comes in at an easy drinking 5%. Second is the return of their Low Flock New England IPA. It clocks in at 6% and features flavors and aromas of mandarin, mango, apricot, and pineapple.
Stone’s Throw is releasing their Cover Crop IPA this Friday. This is a classic American IPA that delivers. “It pours a deep brilliant copper with a bright white head. The initial flavor is a medium-bodied intense malt backbone that quickly reveals the spicy notes provided by the Rye, one of the world’s most widely-used cover crops,” according to the description. Best of all the release is a meet the brewer date, this time you get to sit down with Theron Cash. Feel free to ask him your deepest questions of the universe, or challenge him to a staring contest (spoiler, he will win every time).
