Growlers: Resilience at Lost Forty, Stone's Throw Brownstone, Rebel Kettle is Back

The IPA currently raising millions of dollars for victims of a California wildfire has landed at Lost Forty Brewing. Resilience Butte County Proud IPA is today’s Freshcut Monday release. The Lost Forty team joined with thousands of breweries around the country to make this delicious, malt-forward IPA. In case you haven’t read our feature on this beer yet, every cent of Resilience that is sold will be donated to victims of the Camp Fire in California, which killed more than 80 people and destroyed more than 14,000 buildings. Resilience goes on tap at Lost Forty at 4 p.m. today. It is also still available at Buffalo Brewing Company at The Water Buffalo.
Stone’s Throw Brewing this week is again releasing one of its classic ales. Brownstone Brown Ale is this week’s #NewBrewFriday release. Brownstone is a 5 percent ABV English-style brown ale with four malts for a vibrant, complex sip. A dash of English hops balances out an overall sweet, satisfying beer. It hits the taproom at 4 p.m. Friday. If you want a different take on Brownstone, be sure to come by the brewery on Saturday at 4 p.m. That’s when Theron Cash and the brew team will infuse the brown ale with chocolate and cherries for a unique perspective you can only get at the taproom.
Welcome back, Rebel Kettle Brewing Company. The taproom is open once again after unveiling a beautiful new renovation to the bar area. In addition to the new look, Rebel Kettle is also unveiling the latest release in its C Street IPA series. C Street Block 11 is a New England-style IPA brewed with Citra, Amarillo and Azacca hops for a juicy finish. Expect a vibrant, hazy ale that keeps the bitterness under wraps. It’s out for Rebel Kettle’s 4:30 Thursday release. By the way, Rebel Kettle still has plenty of Whole Lotta Rosé left from this weekend. Trust me, this is a nice sour that you don’t want to miss.
Speaking of Rebel Kettle, you have a chance this weekend to hang out with one of its excellent brewers. Josh Davis is joining Arkansas Brews Cruise for a three-brewery tour on Saturday. Davis will join the brewery tour for stops at Flyway Brewing, Stone’s Throw and of course Rebel Kettle. For those of you who haven’t gone, the Arkansas Brews Cruise takes you on a behind-the-scenes tour of Arkansas breweries, allowing you to sample beers and explaining the brewing process. Saturday’s tour goes from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $75 and include tastings at all three stops. At last check, there were only eight seats left, so hurry and sign up if you want to join.
If you haven’t stopped by Superior Bathhouse Brewing lately, you should fix that. The brewery has been making some top-notch beer lately, and it has another new one on tap this week. Superior teamed up with Red Light Roastery Coffee House to make the Red Light Pango Sour. This sour ale was aged on Pango Pango beans from Red Light for a rich, complex beer. It’s on tap right now; if you’re in the area, you really should go check it out.
And finally, Josiah Moody of Moody Brews is back in the brewhouse again. Moody is working out at Vino’s Brewpub to create the first batch of Earl Grey ESB in more than two years. For those of you who never tried this the first time, this is a malty, slightly bitter ale with loads of flavor from the Earl Grey tea. It is a true joy, and I can’t wait until it’s on tap at Vino’s in the next several weeks.
