The Kitchen|Fields Table Tour, a year-long educational promotion launched by the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board (ASPB), was developed to encourage Arkansans to eat more soy foods and soy-fed protein, such as pork, beef and chicken. It promotes the relationship between the local soybean farmer and the local restaurant industry by using dishes centered around soybeans. Arkansas ranks #10 nationally in soybean production and contributes over $2 billion annually to the state’s economy.
Executive Chef and Owner of The Southern Gourmasian, Justin Patterson, is not only serving a tasty bite to eat, but he has created an easy way for Arkansans to support their local soybean farmers through his feature dish for the table tour. On the menu: Thai chicken burger with edamame hummus, pickled red onions and sweet potato chips.
“Being a restaurant partner in the Kitchen|Fields Table Tour allows us to educate Arkansans about the soybean industry through our feature dish. This program identifies with our culinary approach of incorporating Asian flavors into popular southern dishes, “said Justin Patterson, owner and executive chef of The Southern Gourmasian.
Partner restaurants and feature schedule for the 2015-2016 Kitchen|Fields Table Tour includes:
