Little Rock Trojans Name George Lee as Athletic Director

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has named current senior associate athletic director and CFO George Lee as the new athletic director according to a release today.

Lee replaces Chasse Conque who recently left to take over as the Athletic Director at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Under Conque the Trojans saw their most successful season in program history in 2015.

Lee joined the Trojans’ Athletics Department 23 years ago as a business manager.

“George Lee’s experience with our Trojan Athletics program, along with his thorough understanding of every aspect of NCAA Division I collegiate athletics, make him highly qualified for the position,” said UA-Little Rock Chancellor Dr. Christy Drale. “He is well respected by his colleagues and is dedicated to the success of our student-athletes. This two-year appointment will give us the opportunity to review and strengthen our program under the leadership of someone who knows the program well, understands our mission, and has critical institutional insight.”

Lee begins his term officially on November 1, and he will be present at the Meet the Trojans Day on Tuesday, October 15
