Looking To Kill A Margarita? – Start With These Local Options

The Fold Botanas & Bar: If you’re sensing a trend, it’s that Margaritas are always made better when enjoyed on a patio. The house marg is excellent, and is made with Lunazul Reposado. The best thing about the Fold besides the drink quality is the ability to customize. Choose from flavor add ons by Rothman and Winter or venture into the fruit realm with Strawberry, Blueberry, Blood Orange, and Lemon Rosemary (Watermelon will be available next week). Pro tip: Order the Jalapeño Margarita.
Trio’s Restaurant: For a simple, yet excellent option on the classic head to Trio’s. With Reposado Tequila, Lime Juice, and Triple Sec, you’re going to enjoy a slightly more tart than sweet drink – which is right up our alley. If you’d like, however, simple syrup is available upon request.
Cache Restaurant: If you like a side of atmosphere with your Marg, head to Cache. The restaurant’s Pineapple Rosemary Margarita – the Daisy Bates – is best enjoyed from their patio space, either downstairs along the hubbub of the River Market or from more private balcony seating. Think Silver Tequila paired with a Pineapple Rosemary Shrub and Lime Juice for a citrusy, sweet refreshing time.
Samantha’s Taproom & Wood Grill: Probably not the first place you’d think to find a good marg, but Sam’s Taproom has put out quality drinks since day one. The marg is pretty tasty – not overly sweet nor bitter – and is best enjoyed in pairs.
Loca Luna: If you haven’t had a marg from Loca Luna, you’re truly missing out. Flavored, frozen, on the rocks, premium and top shelf – the Little Rock staple has it all when it comes to the classic cocktail. Go crazy when choosing from flavors like Strawberry, Mango, Blue Orange, Peach, Pomegranate, Sour Apple, Watermelon, Raspberry, Midori and Italian (amaretto). Pro tip: Order a large
Local Lime: One of the premier places in the Rock to grab some tequila goodness includes Local Lime’s trendy bar. The house comes frozen or on the rocks with Reposado Tequila, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Stirrings Triple Sec and a Salted Rim. Plus, they offer a lighter version for the calorie conscious. Veterans will know to order the real deal – The Heirloom. Think Don Julio Anejo Tequila, Cointreau, Essence of Grand Marnier, Lime Juice and a Salted Rim. For the happy hour conscious, snag a $5 house marg Monday – Friday from 3 to 6 p.m.
Casa Mañana: It’s hard to beat an even-keeled, frozen or on the rocks Margarita, especially when it’s enjoyed on one of Little Rock’s best patios (Cantrell location). For a fairly decent blend of citrus and tequila, park it and order a round or two. Pro tip: Snag a marg for $3.75 during happy hour.
Heights Taco & Tamale: Heights-based Little Rockers know you can’t pass up a Margarita at 5805 Kavanaugh Blvd. The Margaritas are a little on the sweet side, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Sip responsibly during happy hour for $5.
Cantina Laredo: This is where Margarita cravings go to die. If you don’t agree, don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. The restaurant has an extensive Margarita menu, and while the house option will suffice, you have to try the Cabo Flip. It’s made fresh, frozen or on the rocks, with Cabo Wabo Reposado and Grand Marnier Orange Liqueur with a lime boat full of tequila.
Baja Grill: Another option for Heights-goers includes Mexi-Cali Baja Grill, which has a bit of an underrated cocktail menu. If you’re a fan of the classic sweet/spicy flavor profile, opt for the Jalapeño Honey Marg. The house is solid (both frozen and on the rocks), but Mezcal lovers have to try the Ilegal, and of course, head to the patio to complete the experience.

Riviera Maya Mexican Restaurant: If you want your Marg fast and at a good price and aren’t too concerned with formalities, catch one (or six) at Riviera Maya. Pro tip: Don’t skimp on the chips and salsa.
Santo Coyote Mexican Food & Tequila Bar: Due to the sheer wide array of Margarita options, this eatery can’t go unmentioned. Think affordable, decent margs with endless tequila options. Pro Tip: Don’t forget about $2 Margarita Wednesdays.
The White Water Tavern: If you know the password or secret signal, you just might convince the bartenders to make you one of these. When you do, it’ll be everything you always wanted when navigating Little Rock’s favorite music venue/dive.
