Opening Date Set for Damgoode Pies' Riverfront Location

Local pizza empire Damgoode Pies announced plans last fall to move into the former Bosco’s location at 500 President Clinton Ave. After 4 months of hard work remodeling the location things are finally starting to shape up.
The official grand opening for Damgoode Pies Riverfront is Saturday March 14th, just in time for National Pi Day. Owner Jeff Trine hopes for a number of soft openings and special events leading up the grand opening, so folks will receive their first look and taste in the new spot soon.
“We are committed to opening the doors on March 1st for the Little Rock Marathon. This will likely be a limited pizza only menu, but we do expect to have our slice bar going for those looking to grab a quick bite after the race,” Trine says. “After that we hope to begin rolling out more of the menu though a handful of soft openings the following two weeks leading up to our big opening on the 14th.”
The new Damgoode location will include a number of features not present in other locations such as a pie bar where people can order pizza fresh cooked by the slice. Damgoode also is working on a vastly expanded dessert menu that should offer up a number of high quality desserts.
The biggest news with the new Damgoode however was retaining the Bosco’s brewing setup. Damgoode will be brewing their own beers, with several recipes created by Josiah Moody of Moody Brews. Trine also hopes to focus the beer at Damgoode on the Arkansas brewing community as a whole.
“We have 9 tanks and I really want to use those to partner with others. We will have ongoing collaboration brews and I really want to make at least one take available to some quality home brewers to brew on a bigger scale,” Trine says. “In addition to what we brew here we will make sure all the beers on tap feature Arkansas beers. We have 16 taps at the bar, eight will hold the beers brewed here and the other eight will be a rotation of Arkansas based brewers.”
Damgoode also announced earlier this week that they will close the Kavanaugh location for renovations starting on Monday, Feb 23. The staff from the Kavanaugh location will move over to help with the opening of the Riverfront spot until renovations are complete.
