Lunch options in Argenta are about to become even more limited. The NLR Italian food staple, Ristorante Capeo, sent us notice last night that effective Friday May 27th they will no longer offer lunch service.
Restaurant owner Brian Isaac stresses that there will no change in the dinner service. Dinner service is offered 4-9 Monday – Thursday, and 5-10 Friday and Saturday.
Ristorante Capeo launched the lunch service along with their new pizzeria section in June last year. Thankfully the pizza, which we have found to be some of the best Neapolitan style in the city, will remain on the dinner menu.
Argenta has consistently been a difficult area to draw a consistent crowd across multiple service times. Earlier this year Good Food by Ferneau closed, in part to finding it hard to maintain a consistent crowd. The popular Mugs Cafe has found the same problem, service is often crowded in the mornings and lunch, but an attempt to extend to dinner hours didn’t work out and they were forced to readjust hours after only a few months.
Capeo easily ranks in the top of Little Rock Italian cuisine, so we hate to see lunch go. However the pizza options that came about due to lunch have been a welcome addition to an already fantastic dinner menu.
