Dave and Buster’s Update: Plumbing permit issued last Thursday and construction permit issued this week on the location with an address of 11900 Bass Pro Parkway is the address. Looks like a Little Rock Dave and Buster’s is beginning to be a reality. We have reached out to the people behind the move and so far no comment. I know a lot of you are interested.
New Bar Manager at 109 & Co: George Thompson, previously with Yellow Rocket and Pantry Crest, is headed back to Little Rock to take over as the Bar Manager at 109 & Co.
The Fold Renovations: The Fold is going to close between Sept 4th – 11th for a complete kitchen renovation and some general spiffing up the front of house.
Trio’s Renovations: Trio’s is on the other end of renovations. After giving the 29 year old restaurant a facelift and some much needed work they are set to open up for lunch this Thursday (Sept 3rd). Owner Capi Peck says there may still be a few minor projects being wrapped up, but they plan to be open for service.
Events
Sept 2 Rare Beer tapping at Raduno – Raduno is really starting to carve out a name for themselves with their craft beer selection. They continue their rare beer tapping this week with a very limited release Imperial Stout from Bayou Teche, Loup Garou. Tapping starts at 3, ends when the keg runs dry.
Sept 2 Local Live at South on Main with Heather Smith Band – Heather Smith and her band are sort of awesome. The Little Rock based group is a blend of Jazz and Pop. This should be a good one for the Local Live series that runs every Wednesday at 7:30. Admission to the concert is free, but if you are eating you will want to make reservations, the restaurant fills up fast.
Sept 3 – 7 End Hunger Week at Big Orange – Seeing restaurants step up to fight hunger in Arkansas might be one of my favorite things. Big Orange is working with the Arkansas Food Bank and will donate all the money from the sale of selected menu items to the organization. Items include favorites like the Ratatouille Burger, Sweet Potato Fries, and the Orange Velvet drink. Full items are listed on the event page.
Sept 13 Beer and Hymns at Arkansas Ale House – For those of you who do not know Canvas Community, they do some amazing work in Little Rock. They are holding a special get together with lots of beer and lots of singing with the folks at Diamond Bear. Get out to it, plus for you Baptist you can actually drink around the Methodist and they do not say anything. Music starts at 6 pm.
Sept 19 Arkansas Honey Festival – We are about to hit festival season in full force, but this one came across my desk and sounded like a nice change of pace. Besides, who doesn’t love honey (as long as bees are not involved). The festival promises a honey making & tasting, educational workshops, children’s activities, music, and food (presumably involving honey). This is at 13206 Asher road and runs from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
