Rumbles: New Food Truck Getting Ready to Roll, Arkansas Brewers Fest, and Bacon Time

Our very own Daniel Walker did a little snooping and found out this nugget from Slader Marshall, owner of Slader’s Alaskan Dumpling Co. up in Searcy. Looks like things are about to go mobile. Says Marshall, “The truck should be finished next week. We have all our licenses and the interior is completely finished with just a couple small things to do to the outside that will be finished in the next few days. We are just setting up our schedule of where we will be around town right now. So just finishing up the final steps!” From the sound of things, the truck will primarily reside in Little Rock.

And finally … this from chef/owner Capi Peck of Trio’s: “We at Trio’s are so excited that summer is here. All the great produce almost makes the heat bearable. More and more local fruits and vegetables are showing up on our menu daily. Right now we are featuring the following locally grown items from six different farming families: raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, four varieties of heirloom tomatoes, red and green cabbage, cucumbers, pattypan and zephyr squash, all sorts of herbs, fairytale eggplant, green frill lettuce, okra, sun/gold tomatoes, sweet onions, peaches, potatoes and corn. And we’re looking forward to the legumes, peppers and melons just around the corner. I am committed to buying everything I possibly can from local farmers. It tastes so much better and helps support an important part of our local economy.”
