Rumbles: Piro Now Open on Sunday, Inaugural India Fest Set

Guess what? Piro Brick Oven & Barroom is now open on Sundays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The regular menu will be available, along with batches of Bloody Marys, mimosas, and bellinis. “We had always planned to be open on Sundays and with the Bernice Garden Farmers Market starting in mid-April, we wanted to get ahead of the game so we’d be ready for the influx in patrons to SoMa on Sundays,” says business partner Bart Barlogie.
Little Rock’s first India Fest is set for April 19 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. in downtown’s River Market Pavilion. Entry is free. Come out and enjoy Indian food, entertainment and plenty of shopping.
This year’s Wild Wines of the World will be on Saturday, May 2 from 7-10 p.m. at the Little Rock Zoo. “Wild Wines, presented by Wright, Lindsey and Jennings, is Arkansas’s premier food and wine event with 50 restaurants providing food paired with top quality wines sponsored by O’Looney’s Wine & Spirits. Our wines are hand-picked by wine sommernier Jonathan Looney who takes time to carefully select a wide range of delicious beverages that span the globe and represent a variety of regions. Guests always have a good time at Wild Wines with five live entertainment areas and a DJ dance party at the main entrance.” Tickets start at $75 per person and can be purchased here.

Mark your calendars! One of your favorite farmers markets gets going next month. The Bernice Garden Farmer’s Market is set to re-open on Sunday, April 12th from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The inaugural Mac ’N’ Cheez Festival is on Saturday, April 11 at War Memorial AT&T Stadium. From the coordinators: “Mac ’N’ Cheez Mania, Little Rock’s inaugural mac and cheese festival, is a fundraiser benefiting missions that serve children, hunger, health and education. This family friendly offers play space and booths for kids (of course all kids love mac and cheese!), yummy tasting, a mascot, t-shirts and some good music at an historic venue that’s covered for all weather and accessibility. Professional teams can register for $40, home cooks can register to participate for $20 and kid cooks 18 and under can participate in the Mac N Cheez cook off for free. Admission is $10 for adults and free for kids 12 and younger.”

Starting at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, the Houses will provide a five-course meal with wine pairings for each course at the Junior League of North Little Rock’s headquarters on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16.
