Benton has a new brick-and-mortar barbeque shop. Smokey Haven BBQ, located in a converted house at 1317 Salem Road, was actually started just down the road in a small trailer by Cody Taylor in 2010. After four successful years, Taylor decided it would be nice to have a place where people could sit down and eat indoors.
Taylor’s mother had purchased the 100-year-old home seven years earlier, so over time, things fell into place with converting it into a barbeque shop.
Smokey Haven BBQ opened on March 18 and currently serves a menu comprised of barbeque staples like ribs, pork sandwiches, and half chickens, as well as other entrees like fried catfish, Angus burgers, and chicken strips. Also, keep an eye out for specials.
From a quick glance at the menu, prices seem quite reasonable. A full rack of ribs, for example, costs $19.99.
Hours of Operation: Tuesday-Sunday 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
