Soup Sunday is Ready to Serve Up a New Date and Location this Year

Soup Sunday, benefiting Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, is always one of the largest food fundraising events of the year. This year they are celebrating their 40th Soup Sunday (we refuse to count the virtual one last year) with a bit of a facelift in the way of a new date and location along with another great lineup of participating restaurants.

For as long as I can remember at least, Soup Sunday has taken place in February. This year the event will move to April 10th which should have some level of influence over the soup choices by the participating restaurants. Along with the change in date, they are moving away from their home for the past several years at the Statehouse Convention Center, to the Venue at Westwind in North Little Rock.

The move to North Little Rock comes with a more regional focus in bringing in restaurants from all around the central Arkansas area. This is reflected in a slight name change on the event to “Central Arkansas Soup Sunday” and there are a number of new restaurants from outside of Little Rock added to the lineup. A full list of the restaurants participating can be found here, and include favorites like Faded Rose, Ciao Baci, Mockingbird Bar & Tacos, The Root Cafe, Sauced, Cheesecake on Point, Loblolly Creamery, Community Bakery, Trio’s, Taziki’s and more.

Along with great soup and food from over 25 Central Arkansas restaurants, the event will also feature music and dancing, a silent auction, Kid Zone, and special Patron Room.

This year’s event is co-chaired by Brian Kutsch and Joshua Price. Tickets start at $35 for adults and $10 for kids (under 5 are free), and sponsorships and patron tickets are available. You can pre-order tickets here or at the door for a slight increase.
