Stone's Throw's New Food Lineup Makes the Mac Park Brewery a Food Destination

Stone’s Throw Brewing might not be the first place you think of for food. For starters, they do not have an actual kitchen in the small brick and mortar brewery. Yet, despite that minor limitation, they are serving up some of the best brew food in Little Rock in their MacArthur Park area brewery.
The food side of Stone’s Throw started humbly, with a list of some of the greatest hits of bygone food trucks set up in front. Trucks like Southern Gourmasian, Beast, Waffle Wagon, and more. Then they decided to put their own food truck in the back to serve as a kitchen for a space that didn’t have room for a kitchen.
The latest iteration might be the best fit for Stone’s Throw’s food selection though. New food truck operator, which goes under AYO Foods, Kenneth Grand has done a great job matching the food from the stationary truck to the beer styles served in the taproom.
For starters, their Spicy Chicken burger might be one of my new favorite burger in the city. It is a ground chicken breast patty with pepper jack cheese, sriracha mayo, and grilled jalapenos. The spice fits together very nicely with some of Stone’s Throws beers like an Amadeus Vienna Lager, or Ripple Effect Rye.

Also on the burger menu are a number of other great options like the Hill Country Burger, featuring Wye Mountain oyster mushrooms and White River Creamery cheese, or a slight change of pace with the Philly cheesesteak that is nice and classic. They also do a handful of wraps, quesadillas, and wings for more traditional pub food.
The pairings really get fun with their beer-braised chicken brats. They start with brat soaked in Amadeus Lager and have 4 different dressing options like a chili cheese dog and a Chicago dog.
Speaking of the chili, please pick up a bowl of their Shamus Stout based chili while it is still cool in the evenings, it is some of our favorite chili around. They also have other pub apps like pierogies (a potato dumpling filled with cheese or chorizo), fries, potato pancakes, and of course cheese dip.
They also do a great job with vegetarian options throughout. The burgers and Philly’s all come with a vegetarian option, and several of the apps can be made vegetarian as well.
Top to bottom it is a great food menu at a very unexpected food destination. We can’t wait to see where it goes from here.
