Attention North Little Rock…you’ve been waiting for this your whole lives. The food trucks you’ve always dreamed would come to your city are now able to park themselves on your streets and serve you wonderful eats. Earlier this year, we reported on the recently passed city ordinance that would allow food trucks to (finally) plant themselves in North Little Rock…something that most residents have been looking forward to for some time.
Now it’s time to support North Little Rock’s first food truck event…and it sounds like it’s going to be a great one.
“Patio on Park Hill” is sponsored by The Park Hill Business & Merchants Association. The first event will be held Thursday, August 27th from 5-8 pm at the Lakehill Shopping Center (which sits just off JFK Boulevard and is home to Ira’s Park Hill Grill, La Salsa Mexican Restaurants, and former home of E’s Bistro).
So who’s showing up to this shindig? Some of your favorite trucks, of course. You’ll find Beast Food Truck, Southern Gourmasian, The Pie Hole, and Waffle Wagon…and maybe more.
Additionally, everyone’s favorite hummus-hawking farmers market regular, Geek Eats will be there selling/sampling not only hummus, but also a handful of sandwiches which should be showing up at their “future restaurant.” Owner Jeremy Rhodes says he’s still in the planning stages, but it’s “very likely” he’ll be doing his “Farmers Market BLT” with tomato jam and an “Italian Grinder.” Stay tuned to Geek Eats Facebook page for more.
Patio on Park Hill will also feature a craft beer tent with brews from Vino’s, Diamond Bear, and Lost Forty Brewing. It’s August in Arkansas…so you know this will be a welcome refreshment.
The Park Hill Business & Merchants Association hopes to make this a monthly event, and board member Kent Walker says “it’s designed to develop a stronger community in Park Hill and North Little Rock.”
So put this one into your calendar, Dogtowners…it should make for a great night. Follow the event on Facebook here.
