Now entering the third year, The Next Course dinner is settling in as one of the best fundraising dinners in the city. This year’s event takes place on October 29th and should be the strongest yet.
The Next Course benefits Youth Home and features five courses with wine pairings (thanks to Glazer’s) from Chef Stephen Burrow, Chef Shane Henderson of Ben E Keith, and sous chef Gilbert Alaquinez and pastry chef Anne Wood of the Clinton Presidential Center.
The unique part about the event is the chefs share the thoughts and inspirations behind each dish, as well as tell you how to make the dishes yourself. We sampled each of the courses in a run for a video component with Cranford Co that runs showcasing this during the course and found each dish to be creative and delicious.
This comes as no surprise really, the Clinton Presidential Center has built a strong culinary team over the years for both the catering and Forty Two restaurant sides of the operation. Clinton Center chefs Burrow, Alaquinez, and Wood have built a solid team. Chef Henderson from Ben E Keith adds a great mix of experience from his time in the restaurant industry and now working with Ben E Keith to enhance and educate restaurants around the region.
The whole event goes to support Youth Home, an organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of youth, adults, and families to become healthier contributing members of the community by providing compassionate emotional and behavioral health care.
Each year the Next Course proceeds go directly to fund a special need of the center that would otherwise go unmet. The first year of the event funded a kitchen upgrade needed to serve over 400 meals a day at the facility. Last year’s event helped provide generators to provide power during outages for the campus’ residential facilities. This year will go to provide much-needed renovations to those facilities including updated bathrooms and patient safety upgrades.
Consider attending this great event, tickets can be purchased here. Individual tickets are $125, sponsorship starts at $1500. Tickets typically sell out for the event, so be sure to purchase early
Also up are some great silent auction items including
Little Rock Zoo Penguin Party for 40 including food and wine.
Flooring from Carpet One
Dinner for 8 with the chefs from Next Course
Around the World Dinner chef’s table at Forty Two for six.
Two Roundtrip Tickets to anywhere in Southwest Airline’s operation
