We love any chance to support a ton of local restaurants while giving back to causes that matter here at Rock City. That is why for the second year we are excited to work with Heifer International to raise money for their world hunger relief efforts while promoting a ton of great restaurants.
World Food Day brings Heifer together with local restaurants for a single day event on October 16 to raise funds to support worldwide hunger relief missions by having the partner restaurants donate 10% of their revenue that day back to Heifer.
“It is a great way to connect with the local community by getting them into local restaurants for a good cause,” event organizer Chase Carmichael says. “It helps us raise awareness and money while allowing people to experience great food.”
This year the program is expanding beyond Little Rock to include restaurants in Northwest Arkansas, as well as other parts of the country. It is a great opportunity to give back while enjoying some great food.
The list of participating restaurants is up considerably from last year. In addition to the 6 restaurants from NWA there are 38 restaurants participating in Central Arkansas. It is more than double the total restaurants from Arkansas last year, making it even easier (or harder depending on how you see it) to pick a great spot to eat.
