Raduno and Loblolly Team up for the "Coolest" Spring Cocktail Lineup

Spring cocktails are usually floral and fruity, as see in the other two menu updates that we have put out this week. Spring is also however the official return of ice cream weather, not that we ever really lost ice cream weather this year.
The folks at Raduno and neighboring Loblolly Creamery decided to capitalize on the slightly warmer weather and create a unique menu addition of ice cream cocktails just in time for spring break.
I have no clue why ice cream cocktails are not a thing already, after sampling through the three new offerings it is clear that cocktails and ice cream live together in perfect harmony. It works especially well when a small batch ice cream group like Loblolly is able to create custom flavors to pair with cocktails.
“We are seeing an overall interest in ice cream cocktails starting to hit around the country. It is something we are trying to work with local bars on creating, and it just made sense to walk right down South Main Street to partner with Raduno,” Loblolly marketing director Elizabeth Strandberg says. “For these menus we are able to work with the bar to create a special one off flavor that matches the cocktail ideas the bar managers have.”

For the Raduno ice cream cocktail lineup, Loblolly created an Orange Bitter Sherbert to mix in with a traditional old fashioned to create a “Frozen Fashion”. It is exactly what you would expect when mixed with Cherry Heering, Old Grand Dad 100 bourbon, and Angostura bitters. It is fine to sip, but even better to mix around and eat with a spoon.
Another twist on a classic cocktail in the lineup comes a honey lavender ice cream take on an Aviation called “The Earhart”. In this case the ice cream is shaken with a traditional Aviation for a creamy and cool variation that sips very smooth.
The star of the lineup without a doubt though is the “S’more of Anything”. This uses Loblolly’s Double Chocolate Sorbet in a vodka based cocktail along with black walnut bitters, rosemary syrup, and averna. The result is a creamy cocktail that would work perfect around a campfire. Finally they torch a Loblolly house made marshmallow to order and top it on a graham cracker and piece of chocolate for the classic s’more topping.
The new menu starts at Raduno on Tuesday the 21st, just in time for things to warm up next week.
