Rumbles: Wine Dinner at Natchez, Capi Peck Coming to Eggshells, New Menu at Forty Two

You won’t want to miss out on Natchez’s First Taste of Spring 5-Course Wine Dinner this Saturday night, May 9 at 6 p.m. Cost is $60 per person (with wine pairings) or $45 per person without wine parings. The menu includes … First course: Secco, Italian bubbles rose, IGT, Veneto 2013 (Red leaf lettuce, local strawberries, farm cheese, candied pecans, mint pistou); Second course: Colutta, Friulano, Italy 2014 (Ham hock, romaine puree, pickled radish yogurt, house naan); Third course: Left Coast Cellars, Pinot Noir Blanc, Willamette Valley, CA 2013 (Quail stuffed and roasted, prosciutto, farro verde, cauliflower, golden raisin); Fourth course: Revelry, Bordeaux blend, Walla Walla 2012 (Beef Bourguignon, crispy mascarpone grits, shiitake, carrot, and sweet potato); Fifth course: Giovanni Dri, Ramandolo, Italy 2007 (Honey custard tart with strawberry apricot compote and crème anglaise). There will also be live music by Amy Angel.

South on Main will be hosting Mary & Friends, which benefits the Oxford American, on May 15 at 7 p.m. Join Mary Steenburgen and friends for an evening of music, bites, and spirits. The new summer menu at Forty Two is out … and it’s good!
Local food trucks will be at The Good Earth (15601 Cantrell Roard) this Thursday, May 7 from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Trucks that will be in attendance include Fork in the Road, Beast, Food Commander, Hot Rod Wieners, The Pie Hole and Le Pops.

Capeo’s next 3-course wine dinner is set for June 8 at 6:30 p.m. and features Clams and Mussels Steamed in Seafood Broth and Tomatoes with Rustic Grilled Bread (Santa Christina Orvieto), Gnocchi Tossed in a Meaty Ragu Bolognese (Tormaresca Primitivo), Herbed Beef Tenderloin with a Gorgonzola Cheese Sauce and Crispy Fried Potatoes (Santa Christina Chianti Classico). The International Greek Food Festival will be held May 15-17. As a reminder, admission, parking and trolley service to the festival are all free.
The Preservation Crustaceans event is set for Thursday, May 7 at Argenta Plaza (520 Main St, NLR). A VIP reception is from 5-6 p.m. with general admission at 6 p.m. “Preservation Crustaceans has grown from a backyard gathering in 2001 to the HPAA’s most-anticipated Arkansas Heritage Month event. Now back at its very first location in the Argenta neighborhood of North Little Rock, and still serves all-you-can-eat crawfish and shrimp, potatoes, and corn on the cob – plus beer and sodas.” Tickets can be purchased here.
