Summer in Arkansas means heat, juicy tomatoes, and family picnics. South on Main’s Owner and Chef Matthew Bell created a new seasonal menu that embraces these qualifiers all the way from the fresh produce to the lazy, backyard group meals.
If you want to embrace tomato season, check out the Tomato Pie with Basil which comes with a fresh, Green Salad. Perhaps you need something a little more hearty – the eatery has you covered with their newest item – a Half Rack of Ribs. Be sure to bring your appetite as the dish comes with Potato Salad and Macaroni and Cheese.
If the ribs sound intimidating, opt for the Grilled Ribeye Cap dressed with grilled Summer Squash and paired with Crispy Potatoes. Vegetarians will be excited to see the introduction of the Hoppin’ John Veggie Burger prepared with a Black Eyed Pea and Rice Patty. The veggie option comes with a bit of kick – the pickled jalapeno gives it a full burst of flavor. Sous chef Phillip Schaaf said, “I’m excited to get to work outside my comfort zone with this dish, as meat is my go-to.”
The new seasonal items, next to South on Main favorites, create a solid menu with a little something for everyone. Head down today to try the dish on the list that most made your mouth water.
